ABOUT DEFOREST SOAP
The actual making of the soap bars is a two-hour process. We gather all of the ingredients and equipment. The six oils are blended together. The lye and water are blended together. The combined ingredients are then cooled, and the essential oil is added. Quickly the product is poured into molds to set up for 24 hours. The soap is then removed from the molds and placed in a drying room to cure for 4 weeks.
The main difference is LARD. One of the oils used in the Standard Bar is replaced with Patchwork Family Farms LARD. To learn more about Patchwork Family Farms mission go to
We handcraft our bars in batches of 24 bars; which affords the opportunity for high quality control. We use natural oils and essential oil for scent. No petroleum or detergents are used. Our bars lather, rinse clean and last. We believe what you put on your body is as important as what you put in it.
